Conductor and Artistic Director Jeffrey Riehl has conducted the James River Singers since 2001, when he replaced founding music director Thomas Colohan. Dr. Riehl is highly regarded for his artistic versatility as singer, conductor, and pedagogue. |
| As Associate Professor of Music at the University of Richmond, Dr. Riehl teaches a variety of courses for both music majors and general students.
During the spring term 2003, he studied at the University of Ljubljana, Slovenia, where he conducted, sang, and researched contemporary Slovenian choral music. Riehl earned degrees at the Eastman School of Music, Westminster Choir College, and Lebanon Valley College of Pennsylvania. Dr. Riehl is also Director of Music at historic Second Presbyterian Church in downtown Richmond and maintains an active schedule of professional solo and ensemble singing, guest conducting, and adjudicating. |
